IWFL Champion Sacramento Sirens Host Media Day
Sirens to Face Redding Rage in First Preseason Game

SACRAMENTO,
March 24, 2006 - The 3-time National Champion Sacramento
Sirens invite all media to Sirens Media Day, taking place
at Foothill High School on Saturday, April 8 from 11a to
Noon. Players, coaches and owners will be available for
interviews and photographs, and will chat about the team
and goals for 2006. Refreshments will be served and a media
kit provided, including a DVD featuring print-quality photographs
and 2005 game highlights.

The
Sirens will also play their first preseason game of 2006
against the Redding Rage this same afternoon at 3:00 pm.
For many Sirens rookies, it will be their first taste of
hard-hitting women’s tackle football.
The
Sirens open their regular season at home on April 29th at
6:00 pm at Foothill High School. They will battle one of
the toughest teams in the league, the Atlanta Xplosion,
whom they defeated for the 2005 IWFL Championship.
All
Sirens regular season home games will be played at Foothill
High School on Saturdays and start at 6:00 pm. Individual
game tickets for the preseason and all regular season home
games, are now available in the online team store on SacramentoSirens.com.
Season tickets are also available and include the preseason
game and four (4) regular season home games.

FACTS
- The
Sacramento Sirens announced a new head coach for 2006.
“Diamond” Lill Jarrell, MVP of the 2005 Championship
game, and co-owner of the Sirens, has assumed head coaching
duties and will also assist on the defensive side of the
ball.

All of the Sirens previous MVP’s have retired.

In 2006, more Sirens rookies are in the starting lineup,
than at any time since the team was incorporated in 2000.

The Sirens have lost one game in 4 years, producing a
45-1 record. (Defeated in 2003 by the now defunct San
Francisco StingRayz at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco)
The team has never lost at home.

The Sirens have had several home fields since the team
began: ?(2001) Consumnes River College (2002), Del Campo
High School (2003), Capital Christian High School (2004)
and Foothill High School (2005, 2006).

In 2002, the Sacramento Sirens defeated the Arizona Caliente
for the national championship in the WAFC Conference,
while being an exhibition team for the IWFL. Since joining
the IWFL, the Sirens have won 3 consecutive championships.
Defeated opponents include the New York Sharks in New
York, New York (2003), the New York Sharks in Sacramento,
California (2004), and the Atlanta Xplosion in New Hampshire,
Connecticut (2005).
